上海ディズニーランドで2018年4月26日、オープン以来初めての新テーマランドとなる「トイ・ストーリー・ランド」がオープンしました。オープニングセレモニーにはボブ・アイガーCEOも登場。盛大なセレモニーが開催されました。

この新エリアには、3つのアトラクションと、レストランとショップ、そしてグリーティングスポットがあります。アトラクションは既存の香港／パリのトイ・ストーリー・ランドにも同型アトラクションがある「Slinky Dog Spin」「Rex’s Racer」、そして新たなものとして「Woody’s Roundup」が作られました。ショップ「Al’s Toy Barn」、レストラン「Toy Box Café」も併設されています。
ご存じのように、2018年は世界各地のテーマパークで「ピクサー」がテーマになったイベントが開催されています。東京ディズニーシーでも冬イベントとして「ピクサー・プレイタイム」を開催、香港ディズニーランドでは夏にピクサーテーマのショー「Water Play Street Party」がスタートします。そしてウォルト・ディズニー・ワールド、ディズニー・ハリウッドスタジオでも「Toy Story Land」が6月30日に、ディズニー・カリフォルニア・アドベンチャーでは「Pixar Pier」が6月23日にオープンします。
とはいえ……上海版トイ・ストーリー・ランドは実はグランドオープンに間に合わなかったのかも？という予測もあったりして、内容を見るに若干インパクトは低め（ウォルト・ディズニー・ワールド版のローラーコースターレベルのアトラクションはない）。むしろ上海に関してはこれ以降の拡張計画がどういう方向に進むのか、個人的にかなり気になってます。ここまで大きく、そして余地を残したパークを拡充するのか、第2パーク展開を行うのか。それとも……
