2018年1月18日より1月22日のポルカドットデー当日まで、ウォルト・ディズニー・ワールドのディズニー・スプリングス、およびディズニーランド・リゾートのダウンタウン・ディズニーにて、ミニーマウスを中心としたイベント「Rock the Dots」が今年も開催されることが発表されました。両パークの各店舗にて、ミニーのポルカドットをイメージしたグッズ、メニューの販売や、各種イベントが行われます。

このイベントのメインとなるのは、2018年1月21日に開催されるセレモニー。今回ディズニーパークス公式ブログが、ディズニー・ハリウッドスタジオで行われるセレモニーの様子をライブ中継することを発表しました。開催は日本時間2018年1月22日深夜2時55分（現地時間 2018年1月21日12時55分）からです。Twitterではミニーの写真を#DisneyParksLIVEをつけて投稿すれば、生中継時にピックアップするかも、としています。

1月21日のディズニー・スプリングスでは、ミニーマウスが何回か登場するようで、2017年にディズニー・スプリングスでのイベント開催時には登場するたびに異なるコスチュームを着ていました。その時の様子は下記を。

日本から見るにはちょっと遅すぎる時間ではあるものの、ミニーファンならば夜更かししてでも見たいですね。なお、2018年1月22日には、ハリウッドのウォーク・オブ・フェームにミニーマウスが追加され、セレモニーにはボブ・アイガーCEO、ケイティ・ペリーが出席する予定です。これも中継ないのかなー（→ありました、関連記事参照）。
