OC Registerを。カリフォルニア・ディズニーランド・リゾートに新たなホテル建設計画がアナハイム市に提出された書類から明らかになりました。場所はダウンタウン・ディズニーの駐車場エリアで、ディズニーランドに建設中のスター・ウォーズ関連エリアの近く、ニューオーリンズスクエアの真横に当たる場所です。
今回明らかになったホテルは、現時点ではテーマ／名称ともに未定で、約700室の規模です。AAA（アメリカ自動車協会）による定義では5段階中4クラスのホテルになる予定で、平均では450ドル程度で宿泊できるレベルになる予定。ホテルにはプールが2つ、キッズプレイエリアや屋上のレストランが用意され、夜には花火も見られる場所になるようです。2018年に建設が開始され、オープンは2021年と見られています。
なお、AAAの5ダイアモンドホテルは、ディズニーパーク関連だとウォルト・ディズニー・ワールドにある「Four Seasons Resort Orlando」が該当します。また、4ダイアモンドですと「Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas」や「Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa」、「Disney’s BoardWalk Inn」などのデラックス・リゾートのホテルが該当します。アナハイムのほうは「Disneyland Hotel」および「Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa」が4ダイアモンドです。

おそらくですが、先日話題になった雇用創出による税制優遇の話に関連しているものではないかと思います。
ディズニーランドでは現在スター・ウォーズ関連エリアの建設が行われており、これが意外に大規模になっていることが空撮からも分かります。スター・ウォーズ関連エリアはエピソード9の公開直前、2018年12月をターゲットにしているのではという話もあり、それを考えるとオープンがちょっと遅い？という気もしなくはないです。
ともあれ、東京以上に土地のコントロールが難しいアナハイムでの動きは大変興味深いです。プンバァ駐車場＆カルーセルインの方の動きも気になるけれど。

アナハイム市にて本件を含むミーティングがあったようで、OC Registerなどがツイートを投稿しています。これによると、このホテルの建設により多くの雇用を創出できる、としているようです。
