WDWより帰ってきたHIKさんとこより。アラジンのサントラがパーク内先行発売とな。思いもよらぬCDが売ってるなあ・・。んで、２曲ほどデモ曲が入っているそうで、”Proud of Your Boy(Demo)”と”High Adventure(Demo)”。前者は今回のDVDで取り上げられた未使用曲ですね。実はアラジン、未使用曲がかなり存在してます。なぜかというと、これ途中でかなりストーリーが変わってしまったんですよね。Proud・・・はタイトルからわかるように、本編では登場しなかったアラジンの母親が関係する曲。元々は母子のストーリーも含まれていた模様です。
で、これらの２曲なんですが、もう７〜８年前になるんでしょうか、アラン・メンケン＆ハワード・アシュマンの特別CDボックス「The Music Behind the Magic」という４枚組CDに収録されているものでした。どこかで聞いたことがあるなと思ったら。探してみたらWeb上にはほとんどこのボックスの情報がないんですよね。。。しかもヤフオクでも全く取引されておらず。内容は彼らが携わった映画、リトル・マーメイド、美女と野獣、アラジン（２枚）のデモトラックと、豪華なライナーノーツで構成されるもので、資料として思わず買ってしまったという・・・美女と野獣についても2002年に発売されたサントラでも入っていたんで、リトル・マーメイドもDVD発売になったらたぶんデモ曲入りのが出るんじゃないかと。いつになるかはわかりませんが・・・一応、そのボックスの収録曲を貼り付けておきますよ、と。美女と野獣の「Human Again」のデモは９分超の圧巻なトラックでした。
